In Episode Three, our first in a series of Spotlight Episodes, we discuss Festivals. Kim McCafferty, founder and Artistic Director of the shuttered Cavan Arts Festival, joins Freelance Arts Consultant Tríona Ní Dhuibhir to discuss the big picture for festivals. We are then joined by Producer Jen Coppinger and Dramaturg Louise Stephens of The Abbey Theatre to discuss Dear Ireland, the theatre’s online response to Covid-19. Willie White of Dublin Theatre Festival rounds out the episode with his thoughts on the future of Dublin Theatre Festival, and the sector in general. In our Art in Isolation series, Technician Gavin Mooney shares a song and his story of isolation, and the John Merrigan and Danielle Morgan share the story of the new musical The Story of Love In The Harbour. Theatremaker Bryan Burroughs rounds out the episode with a reading of Poem for a Goodbye by Norman MacCaig.
